Say good-bye to dirty chicken water and treat your chickens to clean, cool water that you would feel comfortable drinking yourself! The Cooler Waterer Converter Kit turns any insulated five-gallon (or larger) cooler into the ideal chicken waterer. Add a little ice in the summer, and the insulation keeps the water nice and cool. During the winter, the water resists freezing. However, the water just behind the nipples WILL FREEZE in temperatures below 25° F. Pouring hot water into the cooler will get the flow started again. The nipples are manufactured by Columbus Aqua in Denmark. They are guaranteed not to leak.
Note: These are NOT compatible with the heater sold by Revolutionary Chicken. The cooler plastic has a higher melting point, so the heater will melt the plastic of the cooler.

Installation is easy with pictures and easy to follow instructions.
If you need more than one kit, purchase one with the drill bit and the second one without. That way you’re not paying for the bit twice. The drill bit is size is 1/2 inch.

This kit is very well thought out and includes everything you need to convert a water jug/ cooler into a chicken waterer. I suggest drilling the holes 3″ up from the bottom of the cooler to make sure you have clearance to install the dripper housings. Amy from Revolutionary Chicken is GREAT to deal with if you have any questions or run into any issues. The components of this kit are great and should make watering your chickens a breeze! I HIGHLY recommend Revolutionary Chicken as a company and this kit in particular!

Amy is super helpful and has great ideas! This is the only waterer idea we’ve seen that actually keeps the water clean, is easy to fill, etc. Make sure the water cooler you convert is not too thick, the one we tried first was and the nipple didn’t go all the way through the hole we drilled. Fixed with a sealant and it is totally usable, but probably best to get a cooler that is thin enough to actually install the nipples correctly. 🙂
We put bird spikes on top of the cooler to deter roosting and keep it clean. Overall really pleased with the improvements to our coop!! Definitely order!!

I should say that if a customer does get a cooler that is extra thick so the tubes don’t make it all the way through, we have some extra long tubes as well, and we can provide those at no charge. Thank you for your great feedback!

My chickens love their new water cooler! They were easy to install and it took me mere minutes to show the hens how to peck at the waterers. I simulated pecking them with my finger and they caught on immediately. I rotate frozen water bottles inside the cooler to keep the water nice and cool since it’s been 90+ degrees so far. I couldn’t recommend this kit more!

These worked perfectly with my cooler. My only complaint is I ordered a drill bit with it, but it didn’t come. I emailed them, but they didn’t respond as of yet. I’m going to order another set without the drillbit.

This chicken waterer is absolutely ingenious! I was so tired of dealing with the constant mess and grime in our chickens’ water bowl—it felt like I was cleaning it every time I walked by.
