Revolutionary Chicken Feeder and Waterer Combo
$80.00 – $87.00
SEE VIDEO of chickens eating and drinking.
Get your feeder and waterer in one shot with this combo package. These feeders will prevent mice from getting in, they will prevent rain from getting in, and they greatly minimize waste. No prying off lids for either of these–both have hinged lids, making filling easy. The feeders will save you money, and the waterers will save you so much time. You won’t need to refill the waterer for a long time (longer than a week for 6-7 chickens), and the water stays clean! You have your choice between two nipples and two autofill cups, or all four nipples. The nipples are manufactured by Columbus Aqua in Denmark. They are guaranteed not to leak. This can be paired with the 30 watt heater for a heated waterer option.
Pros and cons of autofill cups
Pro: Chickens don’t need to learn to drink from them because they are always filled with water
Pro: Chickens like to drink from them
Con: They get dirty. Twist them upside down a few times to fill with clean water
Con: They freeze, even with a heater. (But when they freeze, chickens can simply drink from the nipples which will work with a heater). They will work again when the weather warms up.
Pros and cons of nipples
Pro: They always keep the water clean
Pro: They work with a heater. (see the waterer heater)
Con: The chickens need to learn to drink from them (this does not take long)
*Do not plan on switching the nipples and cups in and out with the seasons. This can cause leaks around the edges.

Susan H –
My order arrived quickly and everything was packed well and ready to assemble. This feeder and waterer are very similar to another bucket type feeder and waterer that I have been using. I needed to replace mine because after a number of years out in the weather, the plastic lids no longer snap shut tightly. I like these hinged lids on the new combo, and am hoping they will continue to snap closed tightly for several years. My old waterer came already assembled, and I was worried that assembly would be a challenge, but I was able to successfully assemble, and filled it with water and no leaks! I was also able to successfully assemble the feeder, and the feeding ports snapped into place as directed. Instead of a cinder block, I am going to try using old paint cans (still fairly full, but product has dried up.) I am hoping the field mice will be unable to climb up these – the paint can is less wide than the base of the feeder. Field mice were invading my old feeder which had an ill-fitting lid, and I am hoping the new feeder will solve that problem. A safety precaution I take is to install a rope hanger suspended from the ceiling of the chicken coop and around the handle so that if the feeder or waterer is knocked off the base, the rope will keep it from being upset, which gives me some peace of mind that my chickens will still have food and drink if I am gone for a day or two.
