16-Gallon Blue Barrel Waterer

The Revolutionary Chicken 16 gallon blue barrel waterer is your answer to keeping your chicken water clean and not having to refill very often.  Because it is completely opaque, NO ALGAE can grow in it.  It comes with a 2 inch easy-fill plug on the top so you can easily pop it out and stick a hose in.  It can also accommodate the cord to a submersible heater (note: the optional heater sold with the waterer goes underneath and is not submersible). The entire lid can be removed as well to make cleaning easy.

You can also get this waterer with two autofill cups on the opposite side, or all with all four autofill cups and no nipples.  The cups always stay full with water, so the chickens can dip their beaks in and easily get water–no learning necessary.  As the cups get dirt in them, just twist them upside down.

In freezing weather, the cups will freeze–even with a heater.  The nipples will still work with a heater.  If placed next to a fence or a wall, you can turn the nipples out toward the chickens in the winter, and the cups out toward the chickens the rest of the year.  The cups will work again when thawed.

The optional heater that comes with this water is a heated silicone pad that goes underneath the waterer.  The heater will keep the nipples from freezing, down to zero degrees F.

The barrels are made out of food-grade plastic and are used.  They are repurposed from a company that makes plant-based supplements, such as green coffee extract (not harmful to chickens).  We do clean them inside and out before we ship.  Barrels are shipped without nipples installed to prevent breaking during shipment.  You just twist them in the holes provided.
